Setting our Sails

"The wind blows on us all, but it's how you set your sail that makes the difference." - Jim Rohn

We have had a windy week- culminating in a hurricane. This is the time of the year when the winds will blow in the classroom as well- assessments, behaviors, etc. Have faith in the relationships you spent time building. You have handled everything masterfully. Please continue to ask for help if you need it and support each other.

Thanks to Coach G and Mr. Lombardo for their patience  while setting up the screen last night!

There are many kinds of Roots

You have spent two weeks masterfully building relationships and laying those social emotional roots for your students. Remember that greeting at the door in the morning goes a long way! Now we move on to laying those academic roots. Students need to feel that they belong here academically as well as socially. This does not mean that every student masters or exceeds every standard, but it does mean that they are getting what they need to access the standards. Whether it is scaffolding or extension, giving students what they need makes them feel like they belong. When we finish assessment we will have some more information- an additional piece of the puzzle, but not all of the puzzle. It takes multiple pieces of data to get the full picture. Thank you for all you do!

Thank you for welcoming students Ms. Guza!
